YOUR INFORMATION, IN CONTEXT

A private start
to your project.

How we handle the details you share with ManufactureShop.

Updated September 12, 2026

What we collect

When you contact us, introduce a shop, or submit a project, we collect the details you choose to provide: contact information, business capabilities, project requirements, and any uploaded photos or drawings. Fields marked optional can be left blank. We also keep a submission reference, status, internal review notes, and notification history.

Our hosting service may record technical information such as IP addresses, request times, browser information, and errors. Application rate limits use a keyed hash of your IP address rather than storing that address in the inquiry database.

Why we use it

We use your information to review your inquiry, understand the work, contact you, prevent abuse, and keep track of the conversation. We send a receipt and relevant service messages. Submitting a form does not subscribe you to marketing, create a public account, or book work.

Who can see it

Inquiries and attachments are available to the authorized ManufactureShop owner through a protected inbox. They are not automatically published or distributed to shops. We will discuss any introduction or sharing of your brief with you first. Your budget stays with our team unless you indicate that it may be discussed with a potential shop.

We use hosting and email providers to operate the service, so those providers process information needed for hosting, delivery, and security. If you use a separately arranged payment checkout, the payment provider processes the payment details under its own privacy terms. ManufactureShop does not collect your card number in these forms.

Your files and portfolio

Share only work you own or have permission to provide. Files are stored outside the public website and require authorized access to download. Inquiries remain owner-only until connected to an invited buyer’s workspace; submitted workspace requirements and files can be shared with assigned, approved shops. Private owner notes are not shared with buyers or shops. After a quote is accepted, the selected shop retains order access and unselected shops lose project access. Original images may contain embedded location or device information; remove it before uploading if you do not want to share it. Do not send sensitive identity documents, passwords, payment details, or client material you are not authorized to share.

Shop introductions stay private. An invited shop can separately permit publication of its current shop name, description, capabilities, service area, portfolio link and availability. The owner reviews and publishes that exact profile. Editing the profile or withdrawing permission removes it from the public directory; the shop can withdraw permission from its Shop profile tab. We retain a private record of permission and publication actions. A buyer’s preferred shop is saved with the project request and does not itself share the project with that shop.

Cookies and saved drafts

Invited workspace accounts store a sign-in email, name, role and a one-way passphrase hash. Workspace projects, quotes, accepted order records, changes, conversations and notification states are stored privately on our server. Project conversations can be reviewed by the buyer, the relevant shop and the owner. Essential session cookies protect form submissions and sign-in; passphrases are not saved in browser storage. The project form can save a draft in this browser when you choose “Save draft on this device.” That draft may include your contact and project details; attachments are not saved in browser storage. “Clear saved draft” removes the browser copy, and successful project submission also clears it. Use draft saving only on a device you trust.

The customer demo keeps its sample interactions separate from real inquiries. Campaign links may include a reference identifying a partner, referral or promotion. We retain that reference only when you submit an inquiry. We do not use email open-tracking pixels, advertising cookies or automated visitor profiles.

Contact management and outreach

Our private owner tools keep contact details, company information, inquiry history, relationship notes, follow-up plans and outreach preferences. Website inquiries and invited workspace accounts may be linked to a contact record. An inquiry supports a response about your request; it does not automatically subscribe you to promotional messages.

Outreach emails include a link to stop future outreach without signing in. We retain a suppression record so a later contact import does not restart messages you have opted out of. Account, security and active project notifications are separate. Email replies and bounce reports are reviewed by our team; mail-server acceptance alone does not prove inbox delivery.

Retention, corrections, and deletion

We keep inquiry information while it is needed to handle your request, manage an ongoing relationship or transaction, resolve an issue, or meet legal obligations. Contact us with your reference to request access, correction, or deletion. We may need to verify that the request comes from the right person.

Deleting an active inquiry removes its record, internal notes, and uploaded files from the inbox. Contact records, agreed workspace records, existing emails and hosting backups are separate copies and may remain until they are removed through their normal retention processes. We do not promise immediate deletion of every backup copy.
